Today and tomorrow take a rest from Jesus' amazing miracles and quickly look at just how much he cares for us and promises to look after our needs, and how He teaches us to pray. On Day 11 we return to Jesus' miracles and look this time at some of His healing miracles. I pray your kids are enjoying learning about Jesus! God Bless, Kate xo
Day 9
Matthew 5:1-12; 6:25-34; Luke 6:17-23; 12:22-31
“Jesus Teaches on a mountain” p. 318
Treasure Hunt Resources: Playdough, photos of amazing birds
and flowers.
Beginning Activity/Chat: Send the children to find their
treasure and open and have a look at it together. Using some of the play dough
make some birds and flowers together.
Talk about how many different types of birds and flowers there are in
our world and how incredibly clever God is to have made them all so unique.
Looking at some pictures might help too! Ask the kids what the birds need in
order to stay healthy and alive. What do
the flowers need? Isn’t it amazing that God cares so much about all of his
creation and that he gives it all it needs to survive.
In
our true story from the bible today we are going to hear Jesus talking and teaching
people about how God cares so much for His creation, but especially how much he
is looking after us, his people.
“Jesus Teaches on a mountain” Beginner’s Bible p. 318
IN THIS
TRUE STORY FROM THE BIBLE JESUS TEACHES US THAT WE DO NOT NEED TO WORRY ABOUT
ANYTHING BECAUSE GOD IS ALWAYS TAKING CARE OF US.
Questions:
1.
Who went up on the mountain? (All sorts of people – children, mothers,
fathers, grandmas & grandpas!)
2.
Why did they go up the mountain? (They wanted to hear what Jesus was
teaching)
3.
What did Jesus say about the birds and the flowers? Is God taking care of
all of their needs? (Yes! He gives them all they need!)
4.
Did Jesus say we are as important as the birds and flowers? Will he be
taking care of us too? (Yes! Jesus said we are more important than the birds
and flowers and that we don’t need to worry as God will be taking care of us
and what we need.)
How
blessed we are to be so loved by God! Isn’t it fabulous to know that we believe
in and trust a God who can create such an amazing world and do incredible
miracles, and that He also loves us so much and has a perfect plan for our lives
and is taking care of all our needs. We have no need to worry! Praise God!
Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you
so much for all the amazing creation around us everywhere. Thank you that you
have made it all and that you are taking care of it all. Thank you especially
that you are taking care of us each day. Please help us to trust in you more
and understand just how much you love us. Amen.
Memory Verse Activities:
Continue practicing song/actions
While you have playdough out why
don’t you use it make things to represent parts of the verse, or write john
3:16 with it. If you were really adventurous you could write sections of the
verse out on paper and hide inside plastic eggs and hide the eggs in the play dough
for the kids to find and then put the verse back together.
